The poet and prose writer Tolqin Imomxojayev was a person of great humility, thoughtfulness, and faith. Consequently, he earned the respect of readers not only for his works but also for his exemplary, moral character. Several of his stage plays were performed at the Muqimiy Theater ("Oltin Kamar," 1979), the Satire Theater ("Buvam Uylanmoqchi," 1993), and the Youth Theater ("Qaynar Xumcha," 1996).
Biography
The poet's real name was Tolqin Imomxojayev, and he was born in Tashkent in 1938. After finishing secondary school, he studied in the philology department of Tashkent State University (now the National University) from 1956 to 1961.
From 1961 to 1970, he worked as an editor at the Gafur Gulam Literature and Art Publishing House. Later, he served as a senior editor at Tashkent Television Studio and as a department head at the "Yangi Avlod" publishing house.
His interest in literature awakened while he was in secondary school, and this interest led him to a literary circle led by the poet Gayratiy. It was in that literary circle that he matured alongside Erkin Vohidov and the talented poet Sayyor.
As a person, he was extremely modest, thoughtful, and pious. Thus, he gained the respect of readers not only through his works but also through his exemplary moral character.
Thus, Tolqin entered the great and sacred threshold of our literature in the early 60s.
Work
The poet's first poetry collection was published in 1962 under the title "Jilg`alar" (Streams). The poet's dozens of poetry and prose collections, such as "Yurak Tinchimaydi" (1963), "Sevgim" (1965), "Buloq Qo`shig`i" (1966), "Yuragimdan Izlangiz" (1968), "Yulduzlar To`kilmaydi" (1968), "Sevgi Ko`prigi" (1974), "Umrdan Hadya" (1978), "Birinchi Muhabbat Bekati" (1980), "O`sha Muhabbat" (1988), "Yana Uchrashamiz" (1988), "Bir Xiyonat Fojiasi" (1995), and "Sochilgan Sirlar" (1996) were published. Among these are separate books for youth and adolescents, such as "Bola va Burgut" (1968), "Quduqdagi Quticha" (1968), "Salom, Assalom" (1979), "Sevara" (1980), and "G`unchalar" (1986).
